How verification works

Vizzibly publishes verified, structured records of real businesses so search engines and AI assistants can find, trust, and cite them — while the person searching is pointed to the business’s own website. This page explains what we check, what the labels mean, and the rules we won’t break.

01What a record is

Each record is a reference entry about one business — its identity, services, credentials, service area, and hours — expressed both for people to read and in structured data that machines read directly. It is not an advertisement. The business’s own website is the place for marketing; our record links to it prominently.

02How each fact is labeled

Not every fact is the same kind of fact, so each one carries an honest label for how we know it’s true:

  • verifiedIndependently checked by Vizzibly against an outside authority — a license against the state board, identity against Google, reviews against their source.
  • owner-attestedStated by the verified business itself — for things only the business can speak to, like its services and hours. There’s no outside registry for these, so the truth comes from a confirmed, real business standing behind them.
  • self-reportedProvided but not yet confirmed. Shown to people, clearly labeled — but not presented to machines as established fact.

Search engines and AI receive the verified and owner-attested facts; unconfirmed claims stay human-only. High-stakes facts — licenses, insurance, identity, reviews — are always independently verified, never taken on the owner’s word alone.

03What we check, and how

Website ownership
The business proves control of its domain (a token or DNS record), which also confirms the site we link to is really theirs.
Identity (name, address, phone)
Cross-checked against the business's Google Business Profile so the details match exactly.
Licenses & insurance
License and insurance numbers checked against the issuing registry where one exists; we store the issuer and expiry and flag anything lapsed.
Service area
Confirmed against real job records — not a blanket claim to cover everywhere.
Reviews
Only reviews with a traceable source are shown; we never invent or import ratings without provenance.

Every checked fact records how and when it was verified, so we can always answer “how do we know this is true?”

04What money can and can't buy

A business can pay Vizzibly to verify and manage its record — the work of checking facts, keeping them fresh, and adding depth. Payment does not buy a better ranking, a “more verified” badge, or favorable presentation. A free verified record and a paid one that are equally checked look exactly the same. We can’t be paid to say something is true when it isn’t — that’s the whole basis of the record being worth trusting.

05For businesses

If this is your business and a detail is wrong, or you’d like to claim and manage your record, get in touch. Corrections are verified before they publish, the same as everything else.
